Kintail Honey Ltd is a 70 year old established family business. Kintail produces, buys, packs, sells and markets honey. It is involved in a variety of crop pollination and also produces package bees and queens for export.
The Kintail Group of Companies has four bases with 12,000 hives in total. We have bases in Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Te Puke.

The attributes we need are listed below:

  • The beekeeper we would be looking for needs a sound knowledge of bees, and experience in the field.
  • The applicant should have a passion for bees and understand hive manipulation and hive management.
  • A full clean car licence as a minimum – HT training may be given if required.
  • Has completed AFB training and passed but training is given if not qualified.
  • Team Player, strong, fit, healthy, good communication skills, self-motivated and above all else honest.
  • Can follow instructions and pass a drugs test.
  • NZ resident or valid NZ work visa. Please note: due to Covid-19 and current NZ border restrictions, only applicants currently residing in NZ with relevant visa conditions or NZ residency.
  • Hours of work are normally 42.5 per week but needs to be able to work additional seasonal hours i.e. pollination
  • We would consider a seasonal beekeeper
